A Catalogue of DIVAS child sponsorship activity from inception

Child sponsorship is DIVAS main and permanent activity, which runs through the entire year.

Child sponsorship began in the year 2008, with an enrolment of four underprivileged children who were sponsored by DIVAS

Sisters, through the Academy Year 2008/2009. Sponsor included payment of school fees, buying of books, school uniform and other personal needs. A total of 500,000 FRS was spent for the Academic year

For the Academy year 2009/2010, enrolment increased to six orphans and underprivileged children, sponsorship was mainly through primary and secondary schools.  Cash was spent on the following, school fees payment, buying of books, school uniforms and other personal needs; a total of 700,000 FRS was spent.

For the Academic year 2010/2011 enrolment increased by to seven orphans and underprivileged children, sponsorship was mainly through primary and secondary schools. Cash was spent on the following, school fees payment, buying of books, school uniforms and other personal needs; a total of 900,000 FRS was spent.

 

For the Academic year 2011/2012 enrolment increased by to nine orphans and underprivileged children, sponsorship was mainly through primary and secondary schools. Cash was spent on the following, school fees payment, buying of books, school uniforms and other personal needs; a total of 1300,000 FRS was spent.

For the Academic year 2012/2013 enrolment increased by to twelve orphans and underprivileged children, sponsorship was mainly through primary and secondary schools. Cash was spent on the following, school fees payment, buying of books, school uniforms and other personal needs; a total of 1700,000 FRS was spent.

For the Academic year 2013/2014 enrolment increased by to thirteen orphans and underprivileged children, sponsorship was mainly through primary and secondary schools. Cash was spent on the following, school fees payment, buying of books, school uniforms and other personal needs; a total of 1850,000 FRS was spent.

For the Academic year 2014/2015 enrolment increased by to fourteen orphans and underprivileged children, sponsorship was mainly through primary and secondary schools. Cash was spent on the following, school fees payment, buying of books, school uniforms and other personal needs; a total of 2,000,000 FRS was spent.

Worth noting, is the fact two of our DIVAS kids Nanyongo( an orphan) and Oyie Jean-Deliod( a blind boy) whom the group began sponsoring in form one are now in lower sixth.
